Receivers

The main receivers are SDR based.

FCD Pro plus SDRMy favourite SDR receiver at this moment is the FUNcube Dongle Pro+. The combination of the FUNcube Dongle Pro+ and SDRSharp is working great when your main interest is Satellite communication. Below a diagram with the setup that I am using at the moment.

There are some ideas to change for example the down converter setup with the Afedri-SDR. With that change I have to alter the Afedri-SDR filter with another one and see what would be a good down converter. After High Sierra Microwave Model 432M7some looking around I found a down converter from High Sierra Microwave where I don’t have to change the Adedri-SDR input filters.

High Sierra Microwave UHF Model is designed using a two stage pHEMT MMIC LNA, each stage followed by a SAW filter, which provides over 75 dB of image rejection. It has a crystal controlled PLL local oscillator at 425 MHz, a double balanced mixer and IF filter. The low frequency IF of 7 to 13 MHz is a great fit for the many HF SDR receivers, such as the Softrock and SDR-IQ series.

Below the current SDR receive setup:

Details about the sound to decoder setup can be found at the sound-modem page. If you have any questions about this setup, send me a message via the contact form.
